CANSON® Montval® is a watercolour paper developed by Gaspard Maillol, nephew of sculptor Aristide Maillol, which was produced at CANSON® at his desire towards the beginning of the 20th century. Since then, the paper has gained more benefits. It is available in different surface weights and designs for every type of application - from all around glued blocks and spiral blocks to bows and rolls. This Montval® paper with a surface weight of 300 g/m² is suitable for all wet techniques, such as watercolour, but also gouache or acrylic and is particularly tear-resistant thanks to the high surface weight. In addition, the required amount of water is easier to measure for heavier papers. The premium quality watercolour paper made in France is easy to use. Thanks to its correction ability, i.e. the painting can be "erased", Montval® is particularly suitable for beginners and advanced users. You can remove the paint with a damp brush without damaging the paper, so it forgives any errors. Thanks to the described properties, it is therefore easy to use for everyone and allows you to practice and learn watercolour painting. Montval®, as fine paper of the highest quality, has a good colour rendering and has a quick drying time. The fine watercolour paper in premium quality is made on the long sieve machine. Its fine-grained surface allows you to create a wide range of effects and implementations, such as relief effects and can be worked at the same time very precisely. The slightly grained surface structure reflects the light optimally and thus maintains the transparency of the watercolours. Fine-grained paper is the easiest to work with. The paper is acid-free and free from optical brighteners, which guarantees that the white tone remains over time and the watercolour paper will not yellow. It is also fungicide treated to protect the paper and ensure optimal ageing resistance. The watercolour paper complies with ISO standard 9706, as it meets the requirements for ageing resistance and archiving. The sheets are stamped with the Montval® Canson® embossed on the edge to prove their authenticity. Montval® is now the reference for a fine artist watercolour paper worldwide. The delicate colour, the fine surface and numerous quality features make the paper a classic "must have" within the Canson® product family. The package includes 10 sheets measuring 50 x 65 cm.
